"It's an indescribable feeling, I can't really believe it yet," said Anna Zenz, visibly overwhelmed immediately after her election. As the German Wine Queen, I would like to address the younger target group and represent the smaller wine-growing regions more strongly," explains the 25-year-old business economist. She has won the crown of the German Wine Queen for the 13th time for the fifth largest wine-growing region Mosel. In particular, she is looking forward to working with Emma Meinhardt and Katja Simon in the Trio Majestäten in the upcoming year.

Strong performances

Whether individually or as a team– the four final candidates and the male candidate from Rheinhessen shone on the evening of the grand finale in the original and interactive tasks with eloquence, quick-wittedness and spontaneity.

In a hidden tasting with wines from eight growing regions, the wines had to be described precisely and assigned to the correct growing region. SWR presenter Holger Wienpahl accompanied the group through the evening in his usual motivating manner.

Jury and audience vote

After the first vote by the 70-strong jury of experts, it was clear who had been nominated for the new trio of German Wine Majesties. In the subsequent group game and a personal speech, the three nominees were given the opportunity to convince the audience in the hall and in front of the screens one last time.

Emotional coronation

The final result of the public vote, which was announced by DWI Managing Director Melanie Broyé-Engelkes, was eagerly awaited in the hall. To great applause, the newly crowned wine majesties Anna Zenz, Emma Meinhardt and Katja Simon were crowned by their predecessors. "With the newly elected trio of majesties, three professionally experienced and self-confident personalities are ready to competently represent German wines worldwide," congratulated Melanie Broyé-Engelkes.

A year under the sign of wine

As the 77th German Wine Majesties, all three will be representing  for a year on behalf of the German Wine Institute (DWI) at around 200 events in Germany and abroad. At trade and public events, at trade fairs and on committees, they will be committed to familiarising a wide audience with the quality and diversity of German wines.
