Record attendance expected at Vinexpo Paris
From the 12th to the 14th February 2024, the German Wine Institute (DWI) will be presenting a representative selection of wines and sparkling wines from the German wine-growing regions at this year's Wine Paris & Vinexpo international wine trade fair. The joint booth of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) is located in the German Pavilion in Hall 5/2 G 069/09.
With a total of 46 wine producers from eight wine regions, the number of participants has reached a new record. In addition to their own portfolio of high-quality wines, the exhibitors will also present one wine each at the DWI tasting counter, where a wide range of selected German red, white, rosé and sparkling wines will be available for tasting on all three days of the fair. In addition to the German flagship grape varieties Riesling and Spätburgunder the range also includes white Burgundy varieties and regional specialities such as Silvaner and Scheurebe. In line with current wine trends, PIWI grape varieties such as Sauvignac as well as alcohol-free and low-alcohol wines will also be on offer.
"We are delighted that so many local wine producers are taking the opportunity to present their products to an international audience of wine experts and thus represent the diversity of German wines," explained DWI Managing Director Monika Reule. The German ambassador to France, Stephan Steinlein, is also expected to visit the booth.
Varied seminar programme
On all three days of the trade fair, there will be a varied programme of seminars and themed tastings at the joint stand. On Monday morning, the focus will be on "Riesling Kabinett - The Light Side of Life", on Tuesday the focus will be on "Licence to Sparkle: German Premium Sekt" and mature wines, and on Wednesday "Germany's Dream Team: Riesling+Spätburgunder" will be presented. In addition, winegrowers themselves will be organising seminars at the joint booth for the first time. The detailed programme is available for download at the bottom of this page.
In addition to the team from the German Wine Institute, German Wine Queen Eva Brockmann will be on hand to answer questions from trade visitors.
